18's March Power League Re-cap

The 18's started the day with a big match playing the #1 team in Washington and in the Platinum ... Seattle Juniors at 8am.  The match may have been the best match of the day as the OJ's came ready to play and beat Seattle Juniors in 2 very tight sets 26-24 and 25-23.  We then played the #2 team in Oregon, Cowlitz, and played up and down but beat them in 2 sets, 25-16, 25-19. Then came a bump in the road as 253 from Washington  played very well and we played very uninspired and lost in a 3 set match. This set up a 3 way tie between Seattle Jrs, 253 and OJVA.   Due to the point difference Seattle Junior took the #1 spot and we had a 1 game playoff for 2nd.  In a hard fought match OJ's came out ahead 15-12 and moved onto the Championship bracket to play the #2 team in Washington and in Platinum  Kent Juniors.  We came out strong in the first set and won 25-22, lost a close one 25-23 and then lost the 3rd 15-9. We then played Boss for the #3 in Platinum and #1 in Oregon. Both Boss and OJ's had just come off of highly emotional and competitive games and OJ's did not want to stay and Ref a 2/3 match. So with good energy and tough serving we powered through to a 25-12 victory and the #1 spot in Oregon.  We clearly improved as we had lost to both Seattle Junior and KJ in 2 at the last Power League and we split with them this week.  Remember.... The Will to Prepare to Win is More important than the will to win...
